Powers/Abilities: Incredibly strong, "stronger than 100 men." Able to absorb and understand "even the most complicated information." His metal skeleton is coated in a durable and lifelike "skin suit."

History: The Iron Man was a human looking robot originally constructed by Professor Wentworth Farrad, the uncle of Tim Branton. When the professor was killed shortly after his creation, Iron Man chose to become a hero, with only Tim knowing his secret; most people believed he was merely an adventurous human, as he kept the full extent of his abilities under wraps.

Comments: One artist who drew the Iron Man was Martin Salvador. Thanks to Jim Croasdale for this information. Stephen Winders has been in touch to provide origin details and to add "The first artist to draw The Iron Man was Gerry Embleton and he appeared in 'Boy's World' comic before it merged with 'Eagle' in 1964. The Iron Man continued in Eagle until it merged with Lion in 1969."
