Originally the characters created by John Byrne for Dark Horse's Legends imprint shared a universe with Art Adam's Monkeyman and O'Brien - their foe, the Shrewmanoid, fought Byrne's Babe - and Mike Mignola's Hellboy characters - Torch of Liberty was present for Hellboy's arrival on Earth, the adult Hellboy was present for the gathering of heroes seen in Danger Unlimited #4, and Abe Sapien helped Babe out on her second adventure. However, later events in Hellboy titles suggest, without explicitly stating, that Hellboy's version of the world has shifted out of sync with Byrne's costumed adventurers.
