History: (Judge Whitey, Prog #2) Chief Judge Goodman is congratulating Judge Dredd on the drop in crime rate in the sectors he has been patrolling when a call comes in that Judge Alvin has returned from patrol dead. Reading a note which has been pinned to Alvin's chest, the Chief Judge in enraged to discover it is a challenge from the murderer, Whitey. Goodman states he will send in an air squad to bomb their hideout, the Empire State Building, off the face of the Earth. However Dredd says he will handle it alone, to prove the Judges don't need to send in heavy firepower just because things have gotten a little tough.

Some time later, after Dredd has successfully carried out his mission, he returns to Goodman, who is observing the newly incarcerated Whitey on a video screen. Dredd hangs Alvin's badge up next to others belonging to Judges who have died in the line of duty, and Goodman states that sometimes he thinks that is how they will all die.
