Setting: Mudport, a small port town somewhere in England

Plot Summary: Mudport United had been at the bottom of the fourth division for three years until retired sailor Captain Jonah Jordan offered them the services of his sixteen year old adopted son, Mickey. Proving to be exceptionally swift, he quickly garnered the nickname "Flash" Jordan, but his almost superhuman prowess, strange naivety and seemingly non-existent past soon piqued the unwanted interest of nosy reporters and rival players alike.

   The mystery behind Mickey's speed was revealed fairly early on, in the 15th issue of Speed. Despite appearing in every issue of Speed, the strip never made it to the cover.

   Though the strip The Fastest Footballer on Earth ended when Speed was cancelled, its lead character continued to appear, transferring not to Tiger like the other Speed survivors, but Roy of the Rovers, where he became a supporting cast member in The Marks Brothers.
