In the early 1900's he became a part of a secret foundation that in the following years turned Charlie Starrett into the superpowered Captain Paragon.

A more recent image of ParagonComments: Thanks to Mike Murphy for providing the more recent shot of Paragon to be seen on the right.

Thanks to Norb Frydrych for providing Captain Paragon's background and origins. He notes "Paragon's real name and origin were revealed in "The Armegeddon Factor: The Conclusion one shot written by artist writer Rik Levins in 1990."

Charles Starett (Paragon's secret identity) is also the name of a real world actor best known for playing the part of Western hero the Durango Kid in numerous features during the 1940s and 1950s; the Kid was also the star of 41 issues of his own comic from Magazine Enterprises starting from 1949. Given Paragon's Latigo Kid stint and that AC published 3 reprint issues of Durango Kid in 1990, the identical names are unlikely to be coincidence.
