History: When New York taxi driver Al Cooper found a strange costume on the back seat of his cab, the discovery signalled a new chapter in his life. Deciding to try it on, he discovered that he could walk through solid objects while wearing it. He swiftly realised two things: One, that with great power comes...a chance to win fame, fortune and become a celebrity. Two, that he'd look a right prat walking down the street wearing this skin tight underwear. So he put his own clothes back on over the costume; torn jeans, t-shirt, red zipper jacket.

He got himself a manager, who promptly sold his story, complete with secret identity, to the press. He got himself a hero name, Paradax. And he got himself a large blue quiff, just for good measure.

Comments: Created by Brendan McCarthy and Pete Milligan. Milligan describes his adventures as "The story of an every-day narcissistic beer-swilling slob of a cabbie who dragged himself out of the gutter of anonymity to become a world famous narcissistic beer-swilling slob of a superhero" He notes that Paradax is a yob, the kind of hero you'd get if you just randomly pick some young guy off the street and gave him superpowers.

CLARIFICATIONS: None.
