Voltage as she looked when she was with Cloud NineHistory: Originally a member of Cloud Nine, Ruby Fox pretended for years to have lost her powers, until she was attacked by Masterman in 1987. Barely escaping with her life, she turned first to her former team mate Peter St John, who refused to help her, and then to Zenith, the superpowered brat son of two of her dead friends from Cloud Nine.

Ruby was later recruited to fight in the cross-dimensional war against the Lloigor, during which campaign she was reunited with the other survivors of Cloud Nine. She was shown by them how to rejuvenate herself, and became young again. It was only later that it became clear that this was because she, like them, was now pushing her powers to evolve herself beyond her physical form into the Lloigor, creatures of pure mind hostile and inimicable to normal human life.
