Comments: Launched by J.B. Allen in 11th November 1947 as Fitness and Sun, with the fifth issue the comic became just Sun. Early issues included keep fit articles, but these were dropped with the title change. Stories were a mix between comic strips and illustrated text pieces. On 24th May 1949 with Sun #41, the comic was taken over by Amalgamated Press, as was Sun's sister comic Comet, and the new editors replaced most of the humour strips with adventure strips. On 20th May 1950 and #57, Sun became a weekly title. The final issue was 17th October 1959, when Sun merged with Lion after 558 issues.
