History: Zorgo and Elicia were a werewolf and vampire respectively. After a mob slew them, other monsters resurrected the pair using Satanic magic, and the pair celebrated by copulating, leaving Elicia pregnant. She subsequently gave birth to a misshapen child, who subsequently grew up to be known as "the Old Witch", delighting in terrifying people with her tales of horror. At some point she took up residence in the Haunt of Fear and joined forces with fellow monstrous raconteurs the Cryptkeeper and Vault Keeper.

(Horror Beneath the Streets, Haunt of Fear #4) Wanting to enlarge her audience, the Old Witch chased two EC comic book editors, Bill Gaines and Al Feldstein, into the sewers, where they were cornered by the trio of monsters. The price for the two editors' lives and freedom was to give the three tale-tellers contracts, and so the Old Witch became the host of a comic book named after her abode, the Haunt of Fear.

Comments: Created by Bill Gaines and Al Feldstein, taking inspiration from the radio show The Witch's Tale and its host, Old Nancy.
