Comments: Created by Albert Uderzo and Rene Goscinny.

Over the years Obelix has also turned up in all the Asterix feature-length cartoons. In most cases he was voiced by Pierre Tornade (Asterix the Gaul, 1967; Asterix and Cleopatra, 1968; Asterix vs. Caesar, 1985; Asterix in Britain, 1986; Asterix and the Big Fight, 1989), though Jacques Morel took on the role once (The Twelve Tasks of Asterix, 1976 - Pierre Tornade was in this cartoon as the voice of Abraracourcix), and Howard Lew Lewis also played him at least once (Asterix in America, 1994 - unsure who voiced the French version)

In the two live action features (Asterix and Obelix vs. Caesar, 1999; Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra, 2002) Obelix was portrayed by Gérard Depardieu.

Thanks to Natalia Volkert for writing in to remind me of Obelix's profession.
