Manta and Moray

Manta and Moray were a pair of amphibious superheroes who first appeared in a segment of Tarzan and the Super Seven. They had a total of seven adventures together before vanishing from the TV screens:

Real Name: Manta

Identity/Class: Human subspecies, possibly mutate

Occupation: Hero

Affiliations: Moray (partner), Whiskers (sea lion), Guppy (grey whale)

Enemies: Kelp Monster

Aliases: Monarch of the Deep

Base of Operations: The oceans of the world

Powers/Abilities: Amphibious, but cannot be away from water for too long or he will weaken and die. Able to communicate with the creatures of sea and land.

History: Manta was the last survivor of the ancient civilisation of Mu, which used to exist in the Pacific Ocean. Millennia ago Mu was destroyed by a terrible explosion, but Manta was engulfed by a wave of unknown radiation, and placed into a form of suspended animation deep beneath the waves. In modern times he was discovered and awoken by Moray, a human woman, whom he subsequently married.. Together they try to protect the oceans and bring peace between the realms of air and water.

Identity/Class: Normal human.

Occupation: Heroine

Powers/Abilities: Excellent swimmer, able to hold her breath for incredibly long periods.

History: Raised by dolphins after the plane her parents had been flying in crashed into the sea, the young girl now called Moray learned to live in the oceans as if she were native to them. On one particular dive she discovered the body of Manta, whom she managed to revive. Falling in love with one another, they married and pledged themselves to protecting the underwater world from any who would threaten it.
