History: Jack is one of the most powerful telepaths on Earth. As superhumans began to proliferate around the globe, Jack was instrumental in helping set up a government organisation which intended to gather many of them up for study (read dissection in many instances). However he began to suspect their was an underlying, even more sinister agenda behind his employers, and that this hidden purpose would be harmful to him as well. He broke away from his employers, and brought together his own group of superhumans to "watch his back". He gathered the initial members of the Watch on the pretext of protecting all superhumans, but in fact his only concern was himself. He paid particular interest to Xenia, an extremely powerful young girl whom he deemed to dangerous to leave loose for anyone else to control. He made up a story that someone else was planning to kidnap her, and effectively kidnapped her himself.

He used the team he had brought together to try and find out who was really behind the attacks on other superhumans, starting with the brains behind Typhon, the killer of famous hero team, the Law Brigade. He followed the trail back to Typhon's masters, and discovered they answered to a being known as Abbadon. While The Fisher and Adapt, two of his team, were away in New York checking out some superhumans he had learned about, Jack took the rest of the team to confront Abbadon. This proved to be a mistake. Abbadon was too powerful for any of the Watch to defeat, and the team only got away after Abbadon realised that Jack would kill Xenia before giving her up to him. Before they went though, the villain did reveal Jack's true intentions to the Watch members present.

Xenia teleported everyone back to base, and Bones, Xenia and Fallout (the members present) made to leave, disgusted with Jack. Jack then killed the young girl without a moment's hesitation, and seized control of the other two's minds, altering their memories to make them recall Abbadon killing Xenia. When The Fisher called in to inform Jack he had killed Adapt and was leaving the group, Jack admitted what he had done. The Fisher swore to kill him.

Jack spent two years after that strengthening his powerbase, turning the Watch into a multinational security firm who hire out superhumans for a variety of tasks. Where he will go from here is as yet unknown.
