All of Jack's conjurations had to be accompanied by a rhyming incantation.

History: Jack Magic was a magician's apprentice born in the 13th century. He possessed a magic bottle, but because it was cracked, and because Jack was only a student of magic, his spells did not always work as intended. His first spell accidentally brought him to the 20th century. Stranded in an unfamiliar time and place, Jack stumbled through a series of adventures before his strip ended. Stephen Maggs, a local inventor in Cowley Fields (where Jack also originated from, albeit centuries earlier) took Jack in as his assistant, which was just as well, as his inventions were about as reliable as Jack's spells.
