History: Orphaned by the German Blitz on London when she was only two, young Violet Ray was taken in by renowned endocrinologist Dr. Axton. The doctor believed he had learned to control the human endocrine gland, and operated on Violet with a view to transforming the child into a superhuman who could bring peace to the war weary world. Just after he finished the operation though, he too is killed by a German bomb. The re-orphaned Violet is adopted by the Brant family, and is brought up by the rich couple, pampered, spoiled and unaware of how she differed from the rest of humanity. When she came to realise her superiority, she recognised that the world was a mess, and decided that she needed to conquer it. She started her conquest with ruthless efficiency, but eventually her heartlessness caused the rest of humanity to rise united against her. Seeing no way of winning, she faked her own death, using a clone of herself to divert her pursuers.

Gradually Violet matured, seeing the worth in the new world created from the ruins of her empire, and eventually working to protect it, even from threats from outer space.

Comments: Created by John Russell Fearn, Violet starred in 24 novels, published pulp style in the Toronto Star Weekly (Fearn is British however, hence her appearance in the UK section rather than Canadian).
