Don C. has reminded me that " I remember he had a little robot sidekick, who he'd torment endlessly. He lost the robot some time around the point where he'd tried staging a big comeback for the ancient gods." Thanks Don. The robot in question was Edwin, who no matter what went wrong, would always think the best of Abelard.
