First Appearance: Daring Mystery Comics #1 (Timely, January 1940)

Powers/Abilities: Magician, able to transform and animate objects. Able to generate a ghost like "vision" through he could see and talk, teleport people and shrink himself to tiny size.

History: (Daring Mystery Comics #1, 4-6, ga) Monako's parents were missionaries in India, who were murdered when he was a small child by an evil tribe who practised black magic. Monako was the sole survivor of the attacked village, and was taken by the chief of the aggressors to raise as his own son. He grew up learning from the magicians in his adopted tribe, until they in turn were slaughtered by soldiers while he was away. Once more orphaned, Monako emigrated to England, where he gained a formal education. He returned to India, where he sought to rectify some of the damage caused by his former tribe. He later moved to America, where he fought Mr.Muro, a Japanese spymaster.
