Powers/Abilities: Good gunfighter and horseman.

History: (Marvel Comics #1-12, g.a.) After refusing to help force the smaller ranchers in the area to sell to his boss, young ranch hand Jim Gardley was framed for rustling. Breaking out of jail, he hides out and puts himself through a rigorous training process to make himself the best shot and rider in the area, before masking up and riding out in search of justice.

Comments: The Masked Raider operated during the period when Texas was deciding whether or not to be an independent country, placing his adventures either between 1833 and 1845 (the time from when Texas broke away from Mexico to it becoming a State in the Union), or 1861 to 1870 (when they seceded from the Union to when they rejoined).
