History: Whenever their homeworld of Quasar is threatened a group of its inhabitants rise to defend it from the aggressor.

Shown originally as two ten minute episodes each week, the original run lasted for thirty six episodes. The Herculoids later returned with eleven new shows in 1981, as part of The Space Stars. In the first of these new episodes they got to team up with one of Hanna-Barbera's other superheroes; Space Ghost.

The Herculoids also appeared in several issues of the Hanna Barbera Super-Stars comic.


Zandor

Powers/Abilities: At the peak of human physical achievement, Zandor is as strong as two normal men. Zandor uses his shield, which will return to him if thrown, and a slingshot, which can fire energized rocks, in battle. He is an excellent marksman with both items. He can also use his shield like a parachute if he falls from a great height.

Powers/Abilities: Able to fire bolts of energy out his tail or eyes. He can also fire a circular "nega beam" out his eyes which can paralyse opponents. Able to fly, even interstellar distances (and thus able to survive in space), strong enough to carry the humans on his back while doing so.
