History: Elsa Bloodstone is the daughter of Ulysses Bloodstone, the (formerly) immortal monster hunter. Raised by her mother away from her father, she never knew him while he was alive. Following her father's death, she and her mother inherited his possessions and moved into his house in England. There she was given her father's bloodstone, the source of his supernatural powers, now mounted on a choker, by the handyman Adam (better known as the Frankenstein Monster). Drawn to battle demons and monsters and the forces of darkness, she was subsequently recruited by the Beyond Corporation to be part of their Nextwave Squad, but alongside her teammates she went AWOL when she learned Beyond's villainous plans.

Per Degaton notes that "If she is Ulysses Bloodstone's daughter, she would actually be part Nordheimr Vanir in ancestry. (Nordheim was a land to the North of Conan's homeland of Cimmeria. The people of Nordheim called themselves the Aesir and the Vanir, and worshipped Ymir. The Vanir lived in Vanaheim, the Aesir in Aesgaard or Asgard.

Ulysses Bloodstone was born towards the end of the Hyborian Age, circa 8250 BCE. After the Hyborian Age, Nordheim became Scandinavia. I refer to someone who is from Nordheim as a "Nordheimr Aesir" or "Nordheimr Vanir" to distinguish them from the godly Aesir and Vanir in Thor.) Other famous figures in Nordheimr history are the Maha Yogi and Niord Worm's Bane."
