History: (Episode 1, Metamorforce) Hiroshi Ozora desperately wanted to be famous, and dreamed of being a hero. A genius whiz kid, he worked as a scientist for the Technology Development Department of the ZIC Corporation, while at home he had been labouring on a pet project. He had a concept for a device which could generate a dimensional barrier which could surround a human like a suit, and whose appearance could be computer controlled. Because this barrier would not be bound by the regular laws of physics, it could be designed to interact with the real world in a number of ways, allowing it to fly, to stop bullets, and even to phase through solid objects. Hiroshi finally managed to achieve his goal through programming brainwaves into the computer system, and powering the whole thing through a "Mol crystal". Thus he created his Mol Unit. His invention could easily have made him famous in the normal, scientific sort of way. However Hiroshi craved the more immediate type of fame, and designed the Mol Unit's barrier to take the shape of a suit which looked like a tall, muscular superhero, with the powers controlled by the wearer's mind. There was only one real flaw in the design - the crystal that powered the barrier could burn out if used too long, so Hiroshi designed the Mol Unit to time out and vanish after 666 seconds, before the crystal ran out of power. If this time limit was reached while the user was dressed in the suit the Unit generated, the wearer would be left stranded and naked.

He soon got his chance when his former teacher and renegade scientist, Dr.Machinegal, sent out his beautiful but deadly Machinegal Dolls to try and steal an antique Formula-1 racing car from the ZIC "race Queen contest". Hiroshi powered up the Mol Unit and easily thwarted them; he was dubbed Captain Tokyo, and finally gained the fame he desired. As Hiroshi engaged in more and more heroic feats, his fame grew rapidly, and Captain Tokyo became a household name. Only his sister Mirai seemed to be less than impressed with the city's new protector: she thought the whole thing silly, right down to the name. She swiftly figured out her brother was Captain Tokyo (being present as the contest winner at the first appearance of same, then later finding Hiroshi's abandoned clothes at the scene). Nosing around his room, she discovered Hiroshi's Captain Tokyo design on his computer, and decided to program in a new, more fashionable look, unwittingly giving the device a split personality.

Disaster struck when the Machinegal Dolls attacked an Formula-1 race. Hiroshi powered up the Mol Unit and summoned the suit...and discovered that he was trapped in a far-too-small and extremely embarrassing feminine variation of his superhero costume. Unable to continue the combat, Hiroshi realised what had happened and swiftly came up with the only option left open to him. Racing home, he got Mirai to don the suit, which now fitted her perfectly. Then he sent the new "Captain Tokyo" (or Moldiver as she preferred to be known) out to fight the Machinegal Dolls, while Hiroshi guided her through a radio link.

Unable to remove Mirai's modifications from the system, and unable to predict which of the two forms the Mol Unit might take at a given time, Hiroshi had to reluctantly give up his Captain Tokyo identity for the moment, and returned to his scientific research.

(Episode 2, Overzone) Hiroshi was sent to Florida by his employers, and invited his siblings to accompany him, so they could attend a concert by international popstar Amy Lean. At first Mirai deigned to stay home, but when she discovered that Hiroshi had gone with Kaoru Misaki, whom she fancied, as well as her best friend who also fancied Kaoru, she decided to use the Mol Unit to follow them to the United States. This proved to be fortuitous when the Machinegal Dolls showed up, intending to hijack the space shuttle.

(Episode 3, Longing) No details of Hiroshi's part in this episode

(Episode 4, Destruction) No details of Hiroshi's part in this episode

(Episode 5, Intruder) Hiroshi finally managed to duplicate the Mol Unit, allowing him to resume his Captain Tokyo persona. When his friend (and pilot) Kaoru Misaki's life was endangered during the launch of the new ZIC Sakigake dimension warping rocket, Hiroshi and Mirai raced to the test site at Mount Fuji to save him. Things were not helped when Dr.Machinegal unleashed his new, Mol-Unit enhanced, "Super Dolls", nor by the arrival of a mysterious and extremely powerful third Moldiver during the ensuing battle.

(Episode 6, Verity) No details of Hiroshi's part in this episode

Comments: Created by Itou Shinpei. Voiced by Tomoyuki Morikawa in the anime. The series ran for 6 OVA episodes of approximately 30 minutes each.
