Captain America (1991)

The last attempt (to date) at a live action Captain America series, and it is really bad. Which is a shame because it is the closest we've had to a faithful adaption of the original comic. However closest doesn't mean it's there, and largely it's those changes which make the film so flawed - for example the Red Skull is Italian for no definable good reason, and extremely stupid (when your enemy has a deadly grip on your hand, will pull you to your doom unless you can get free, and you have a big knife, try cutting off HIS hand, not your own!). This was the only version of Cap intended for a cinematic release, but it was such a turkey that it went straight to video instead. Matt Salinger played Cap.
