History: Jennifer's Neuwirth's parents sought truth in religion...in many religions in fact. By the time Jennifer was ten, her parents had changed churches and creeds no less than twelve times, unsatisfied that each faith demanded "the hard work of faith and the denial of certain pleasures." Unable to handle either of these demands, Jennifer's parents quit each one in turn, until the met the cult leader Robertson. His followers believed only in pleasures such as sex, and he demanded only one thing; that they deny him nothing. So when he asked for Jennifer, still only a child, her parents gave her to him without argument. Robertson had another secret; he was a "dark angel", carrying within him a power he could not access, but could pass on. Having sensed an innate power within Jennifer, he sought to steal it from her, but his abuse only served to awaken her superhuman abilities. Escaping his clutches, Jennifer became the heroine Canadiana, somehow sensing herself to be the spirit of that country and the modern age. She tracked down and fought Robertson again, though he got away, and later brushed off attempts to question her by Doreen MacCallum of the mysterious Thirteen Sevens.
