History: Beowulf is the warrior of the famous epic, slayer of Grendel and his mother. An immortal, he has lived for fourteen hundered years; he fought in the Crusades and in both World Wars on the Allied side, and has been in countless other battles. In the modern day, he tries to live a quiet and incognito life, but finds that events conspire to make that impossible. Across the world previously normal humans begin to demonstrate superhuman powers, spreading fear and terror; but Beowulf knows that worse is to come. Allying himself with Powerhouse, a new hero who protects Times Square, the two set out to confront the horror which is coming.
